What occurs if my payment is late?

A late fee of 5% of your bill will be added to your account if payment is not received by the due date stated on your bill. There is a Disconnection Fee of $35 applied to the account if not paid 30 days from the statement date found at the top of the bill. If you have received a bill with the previous balance not yet paid, then the bill must be paid before the disconnect date, to avoid shut off.

How often will I be billed?

The City bills on a monthly basis. Payment is due within 20 days from the Statement date. If that date falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date will be moved to the next business day.

Why do you need my Social Security Number?

In accordance to Florida Statute 119.071(5), the City of Edgewater's collection of social security numbers is imperative for the performance of its lawful duties and responsibilities.

Social security numbers collected by the City of Edgewater are considered confidential and may not be used by this agency for any purpose other than the purpose provided in this written statement.

If my service has been terminated for non-payment, how do I get my water back on?

To reinstate service, your entire past due balance plus the $35 Disconnection Fee must be paid. Payment may be made with your Debit/Credit/Check on our web page, by phone through our automated phone system (credit/ Debit only), or by visiting our office in City Hall (all forms of payment accepted). To ensure that your turn on is processed in a timely manner you must speak to a Utility Customer Service Representative and inform them that your water has been turned off for non-payment and you have made payment. If payment is made by 3:30pm, your water will be restored the same day.
