Hurricane Dorian - Debris Pickup
Hurricane Dorian - Debris Pickup
The City crews have completed three passes for yard debris since Hurricane Dorian. Per Fee Resolution 2019-R-09 special refuse pickups of yard trash or exorbitant amounts of solid waste that exceeds normal or routine pickup quantities may be charged an additional pickup and disposal fee. Any tree trimming by a contractor must be hauled away and disposed of by the contractor. If it is not, the homeowner will be charged for the pickup. If you have any questions, please call 386-424-2400 ext. 4007.
Re-use your sandbags. Do not empty them out - store the sandbags somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight so they will be ready when you need them next. If you wish to dispose of your sandbags, first empty the sand into a landscape feature on your property (not in a stormwater management feature) and then keep the empty bags. These bags are reusable and should hold up for at least one year if stored properly. Note that City Solid Waste crews will NOT collect filled sandbags.
