If you have a question about when your waste will be picked up please call 386.424.2400 ext. 4007, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.
Place these items out to the street/curb for Wednesday collection by 7:00am. Appliances will NOT be picked up during holiday weeks. If the garbage truck does not collect the items, you will be placed on a list for collection within a few days. Leave these items out for collection. If brought back to your house you may miss the collection. Tires are limited to four (4) per household, per year.
Place your old furniture or mattress you wish to discard/dispose of to the street/curb. If the garbage truck does not collect the items, you will be placed on a list for collection within a few days or you can give the Department of Environmental Services office a call and let them know it is out by the street. Leave these items out for collection. If brought back to your house you may miss the collection. Furniture/mattresses will NOT be picked up during Holiday weeks. Do NOT place items for sale near the street as the refuse workers will pick them up!
Volusia County conducts hazardous household chemical collection days throughout the County. Please watch your newsletter and newspaper for days in the Edgewater area. As an alternative, you may dispose of these items at the Volusia County Landfill located at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Daytona Beach for more information you may call (386) 947-2952.
Needles cannot be placed in your garbage. You MUST use a "Sharps" disposal container. Information about the Sharps disposal containers may be obtained from the following:

Edgewater employees CANNOT collect any waste in red or yellow bio-hazardous bags. Medical waste that has NOT come in contact with bodily fluids, such as IV fluid bags and oxygen tubing may be disposed of in your regular garbage.
To start your residential collection, contact Edgewater Utility Billing at 424-2400 opt 2. Once you have service set up you can contact, Edgewater Environmental Services at 424-2400 ext 4007 for your collection days, to receive a green recycling bin (if one is not currently on-site).
NO! ALL contractors are responsible for disposal of the waste generated in the services they are providing. Make sure disposal is included in your price from the contractor. The City will charge you for the disposal if a contractor has not removed all the waste generated.

Garbage collection - twice per week

Loose laying or bundled yard waste, household appliances, and four (4) tires per household. Place curbside for continuous route collection.
To protect the environment and ensure the safety of our residents and employees, the City of Edgewater does not accept household hazardous waste for curbside collection. These items include solvents, paints, auto fluids, household/pool chemicals, or any combustible items. The empty container of these products may be placed with your regular garbage for collection. Paint cans must be empty and completely dried up before disposal.
Garbage collection - Edgewater provides one refuse container/cart for garbage collection per household. We ask that residents utilize the provided cart to place garbage to the street/curb. If you have excess that will not fit in your provided cart please place additional garbage in plastic bags and or any 20-gallon garbage cans. Any additional cans used must have handles.
Recycling collection – Please call Environmental Services at 386-424-2400 ext 4007 and request a recycle bin. Each household is allowed two. If you have more recyclable materials than two bins will hold, place in a paper or plastic grocery bag and place near or on top of your bins.
Your garbage is picked up twice weekly – either Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday, depending on your location. Check the Map Here.

Bagged or contained yard waste is collected once weekly on Wednesday, except for holiday weeks. Do NOT use your recycling bin for yard waste it will NOT get picked up.
Loose laying yard waste will be picked up approximately twice a month on a continual route system. Place your loose laying yard waste along street/curb not blocking your mailbox, driveway, drainage swale/ditch area in front of your own home. Please do not make pile larger than 4'x4'x4' any pile over the 4'x4'x4' limit will have an additional charge.
Containers must be out by 7:00 a.m. the day of collection. Containers may be placed to the street/curb the evening before your regular scheduled collection day. All containers must be removed from the street area no later than 11:00 p.m. on your collection day.

All waste should be placed alongside the street not blocking your mailbox, driveway, or stormwater swale/ditch area in front of your own home.
