How can I pay my bill? Where should I mail my payment?

Several different payment options are available, such as:

  • Mail your payment to our secure payment processing center using the included payment stub and envelope. If you do not have a payment stub or envelope, please make sure your full account number, including dash, is on your check and send your payment to:

    ***Mailing your bill directly to the City delays the processing of your payment and could result in cut off for non-payment.

  • Direct bank drafting by filling out an ACH Debit Request form.

  • Walk-in over-the-counter payments, to City Hall located at 104 N Riverside Drive, Edgewater, FL 32132.

How can I receive a credit for a pool fill?

Pool fills do not qualify for a high consumption water credit, although you may qualify for a sewer credit. Contact your sewer company, in writing or fill out a water adjustment form, or fill out our new Online Adjustment Form to request a sewer credit. Please include the date the pool was filled.

How can I receive a credit if I have a leak?

WATER LEAK

You may receive a water credit if the bill with high consumption is at least 2 times more than your average consumption. Only one credit per twelve-month period may be granted. If the high consumption overlaps a two-month period, the City will calculate the credit on months that were affected. Customers on Edgewater sewer could be given a sewer credit back down to their average. To inquire about a sewer credit from the other utilities, please call them directly. How can I schedule an appointment?

Once the Business Tax Receipt is submitted, the property owner or representative will be contacted to set up the inspection. Inspections will be done by appointment only. After the property inspection is complete and the property is in compliance, the property owner will pay for the Certificate of Use.

How do I dispose of Hazardous Waste?

Volusia County conducts hazardous household chemical collection days throughout the County. Please watch your newsletter and newspaper for days in the Edgewater area. As an alternative, you may dispose of these items at the Volusia County Landfill located at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Daytona Beach for more information you may call (386) 947-2952.

How do I dispose of my hypodermic/IV needles?

Needles cannot be placed in your garbage. You MUST use a "Sharps" disposal container. Information about the Sharps disposal containers may be obtained from the following:

How do I dispose of my medical waste?

Edgewater employees CANNOT collect any waste in red or yellow bio-hazardous bags. Medical waste that has NOT come in contact with bodily fluids, such as IV fluid bags and oxygen tubing may be disposed of in your regular garbage.

How do I find out what's happening with a case I filed?

How do I start service?

To start your residential collection, contact Edgewater Utility Billing at 424-2400 opt 2. Once you have service set up you can contact, Edgewater Environmental Services at 424-2400 ext 4007 for your collection days, to receive a green recycling bin (if one is not currently on-site).

How do I start utility service?

To start service we will need to have:

  • If owner:
    • Copy of the signed settlement statement, warranty deed, or something that has been filed with the clerk of courts showing the change of hands.
    • Copy of Driver's License.
    • The copies can be faxed (386-424-2409) or in person (104 N. Riverside Drive, Edgewater, FL 32132).
    • There is a $200 deposit and $35 service charge for Water and Sewer Service. $235 is the most to be paid, however, it could be less depending on your utility credit score.
    • Please make sure to have the Garbage Cart on the outside of the house for verification.
  • If tenant:
    • Copy of your signed Lease Agreement.
    • Tenant's Driver's License.
    • The copies need to be brought down to City Hall (104 N. Riverside Drive, Edgewater, FL 32132).
    • There is a $200 deposit and $35 service charge for Water and Sewer services. $235 is the most to be paid, however, it could be less depending on your utility credit score. You will need to have the full amount, on hand, or the water will be turned off and will not be restored until full payment of deposit and service charge is received. The Deposit and Service charge is due at time of sign up and will not be billed.
    • Please make sure to have the Garbage Cart on the outside of the house for verification. This will also be due at time of sign up and will not be billed.

How Do I Submit A Public Records Request?

How do these moratoriums affect a building permit that was submitted before January 6, 2025?

Building permits that have already been submitted prior to the effective date of the Ordinance would not be included in this moratorium.

How do these moratoriums affect the construction of subdivisions currently under development?

Applications submitted prior to the effective date of the moratoriums would be allowed to complete the development process if an applicant had received approval for an annexation, rezoning, and / or comprehensive plan amendment within the last six months prior to the effective date of this Ordinance, said applicant shall have the right to submit a site plan and / or a preliminary plat and subsequently a final plat. If an applicant has submitted for a preliminary plat prior to the effective date of the moratoriums, said applicant shall be allowed during the moratorium to submit for final plat.

How do these moratoriums affect the development of future subdivisions?

The City will not accept, process, or approve any new applications for annexations, rezoning’s, comprehensive plan amendments, site plans, preliminary plats, or final plats from any applicants who received entitlements more than six months prior to the effective date of the moratorium and who does not have an application submitted.
