Tropical Storm Helene-Information

Edgewater, Florida – With the possibility that weather related to Tropical Storm Helene may impact our community in the coming days, the City of Edgewater has stocked two locations throughout the City with sand piles. 

 

Sand pile locations:

Southwest Corner of Hibiscus Drive and 26th Street                                    
Mango Tree Lake (901 Mango Tree Drive)   

Sand piles information:

Both locations are accessible 24 hours a day and staffed at the hours listed below.

Residents should bring their own shovels and bags outside of staffed hours at both locations.
Bags may also be purchased at local home supply centers or double-bagged, heavy-duty garbage bags may be used. 

Sand bag information:

The Mango Tree Lake location will be staffed for sand bag distribution on:

  • Wednesday, September 25, 2024      8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Thursday, September 26, 2024          8:30 AM – 6:00 PM (weather permitting)

The Hibiscus location will be staffed for sand bag distribution on:

  • Wednesday, September 25, 2024      8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Thursday, September 26, 2024          8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (weather permitting)

15 bags will be available per household with proof of Edgewater residency, while supplies last

 

Office Closures:

Non-emergency City offices will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, September 26. 2024) with plans to reopen at 8:00 AM on Friday.

 

Yard waste information:

Residents are encouraged not to generate any further yard debris in advance of the storm.  Crews will be picking up bagged/contained yard waste on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.  If a resident has a large pile of yard debris for pick up they must request pick up by calling 386-424-2400 x4007 or by using this link:  Contact To The City | City of Edgewater Florida

 

Trash/recycling pick up information:

Trash and recycling pick ups will be made on the normal Thursday (September 26, 2024) schedule, weather permitting. Residents must have their cans/bins to the street by 7:00 AM.  Residents are asked not to put any items to the curb that are not contained in a City issued trash can.
