Road Resurfacing-SR 442 and Streets Throughout the City

Resurfacing

08.25.2022

Indian River Blvd/SR 442

Monday, August 22, to Friday, August 26, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. nightly, single lane closures on eastbound and westbound State Road 442 (Indian River Boulevard) from I-95 (S.R. 9) to U.S. 1 (S.R. 5) for paving operations.

During this time period, there will also be intermittent single outside lane closures on westbound State Road 442 (Indian River Blvd) from Air Park Road to US 1 (State Road 5) for sidewalk, curb and gutter work.

Uneven pavement is a common, unavoidable roadway condition with projects that require resurfacing as the contractor must place different layers of asphalt during various phases of construction. Motorists are asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed while driving through the work zone.

Due to some delays with weather, Masci is still working on Riverside Drive. The intersection of Riverside Drive and Park Avenue is currently closed to thru traffic (City Hall parking lot and the Kennedy Park are accessible), as they have some touch up to do after the rain yesterday, but they should be opening it up soon and will move the closure up closer to Lamont Street. Crews will possibly be done on Riverside Drive today, but may have to finish up tomorrow.

Masci Construction will be resurfacing North Riverside Drive from Park Avenue to Hamilton Road over the next several days. The plan is to start at the north end and work their way south. Work will begin on Dixwood Avenue to Hamilton Road today (Tuesday, August 9, 2022) through Thursday and then Evergreen Drive to Dixwood Avenue on Friday.

Crews will be working on the section from Park Avenue to Evergreen Drive on Monday and Tuesday of next week (August 15-16, 2022) with paving in front of City Hall and George R. Kennedy Memorial Park on Monday.

Residents will have access during resurfacing, but there may be limited delays during the actual paving.

Please see the plans for the road closures/detours along Riverside Drive below in the supporting documents.
