Road Closed-Needle Palm Drive and 17th Street

ROAD CLOSED

UPDATE: We have decided to keep the pump running across Needle Palm to help lower the water in Duck Lake, so the intersection will remain closed while it runs.  We plan to shut the pump down before the heavy rains (approx. late afternoon today) and will reopen the road at that time. 

The Environmental Services Department is pumping down Duck Lake and running the hose down 17th to the swale/retention that runs west to the Orange-Pine canal.  With that, the large capacity pipe is laying across Needle Palm Drive.  The intersection of Needle Palm Drive and 17th Street will be closed overnight.  We will reopen the intersection around 8 am Wednesday morning.
