Office of the Chief

Joseph P. Mahoney was promoted to Chief of Police on July 2, 2018, having worked through the ranks of the Edgewater Police Department. Chief Mahoney has been a law enforcement officer since 2003, serving in several different roles. Prior to his promotion, he served as the 2nd in command as a Police Captain - since- 2013. Chief Mahoney possesses a Bachelor of Applied Science and graduated the 265th Session of the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.
