Traffic Unit
The Traffic Unit consists of three motorcycle officers and the Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit, which is overseen by a sergeant. The Traffic Unit's primary responsibility is to aid in the Edgewater Police Department’s overall goal of reducing traffic crashes and traffic violations to improve the safety of the community.
The responsibilities of the traffic unit are:
- Enforce Traffic Laws
- Investigate Traffic Crashes
- Respond to Citizen Concerns Involving Traffic Incidents
- Conduct Traffic Studies
- Engage in Education and City Events
