City of Edgewater announces closings relative to Hurricane Isaias
Due to the expected storm surge from Hurricane Isaias, the fishing piers/docks at Menard May and Veterans Parks will be closed effective immediately. Parks and Recreations crews are undertaking measures to protect these structures from potential damage. The fishing piers/docks will remain closed until after the storm has passed, damages can be assessed and repairs made, if necessary.

Sand bag information: The City has a limited supply of sandbags available and will be handing them out at Mango Tree Lake (900 block of Mango Tree Drive - just south of West Park Avenue). City employees will be handing out sand bags between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM on Friday (July 31, 2020) and Saturday (August 1, 2020) or until the supply runs out. Residents need to bring their own shovels to fill the sand bags. Each resident will be limited to 10 bags. Proof of residency is required.

Residents should bring their own shovels. Sand bags NOT provided at this location so residents must supply their own sandbags/double bagged, heavy duty garbage bags.
Mango Tree Lake

Debris removal instructions: Residents are encouraged not to generate any additional unnecessary debris. Experiences with prior storms have shown that limbs are more sustainable intact on the trees versus as loose debris on the street.
Situation Encountered: Representatives from all City departments are in regular contact regarding the potential impact that Hurricane Isaias could have on our community. Stormwater and street infrastructure are being assessed to ensure all are functioning as designed.
