TEMPORARY SOLID WASTE CHANGES - EFFECTIVE AS OF APRIL 20, 2020
TEMPORARY SOLID WASTE CHANGES EFFECTIVE AS OF APRIL 20, 2020
This time of unprecedented challenge brings with it changes to established schedules of service delivery. The health and safety of our employees and residents is our top priority. With this in mind the Environmental Services Department Solid Waste Division will be implementing a temporary service change to a one day a week pickup of solid waste/garbage, your pick up day will coincide with your recycling day. If your normal recycling day is on Monday, all of the other solid waste will also be picked up on Monday, including recycling and yard waste. There will be separate pickups of household garage, recycling and yard waste; all on the same day. Please continue to segregate these items. The clam truck will also run on this schedule to pick up large items. This new temporary routine is necessary to allow for social distancing of the Solid Waste employees as only 2 people (versus 3 in tight quarters) will be in cabs of the trucks.
These temporary changes will allow all items (garbage/recycling/yard waste/large items) to be picked up on the customer’s regularly scheduled recycling day in order to ensure a safe and clean community. It is essential that all garbage/recycling/yard waste/large items be at the street no later than 7:00am on the assigned pick up day.
If you have a question about when your waste will be picked up please call 386.424.2400 ext. 4007, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.
