Watering Restrictions-Daylight Savings Time

Remember when you spring forward your clocks for daylight savings time, you can also adjust your watering days. Please remember to only water when it is needed to do your part to help conserve water.

Reclaimed Water-Upcoming Limitation for Daytime Usage to Begin Monday-May 22nd

Due to the ongoing dry conditions and in order to conserve irrigation water availability for all customers, beginning next week Monday, May 22, 2023 Staff will deactivate the Reclaimed Water Distribution pumps between the hours of 10am to 4pm each day. This protocol will continue until routine rainfall has returned.

Daytime usage of reclaimed water is currently much higher than normal and is depleting the supply from our tanks during the day before the majority of users have an opportunity to use the resource in the evening and overnight hours. The City augments the supply of reclaimed water with surface water withdrawn from the borrow pit adjacent to the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The level of the borrow pit has dropped very low, and is close to the level which will require us to suspend augmenting. If the reclaimed system runs out of supply before Monday, May 22, 2023, a separate notice will be issued informing of the outage.

If you  should have any questions or concerns please contact the Department of Environmental Services at 386-424-2400 ext. 4007 or via email at EnvironmentalServices@CityofEdgewater.org
